The entertainment world is mourning the loss of the great Bob Barker, who passed away at the age of 99. The legendary TV host, best known for his role in “The Price is Right,” left behind a legacy that will never be forgotten.

Born in 1923, Barker relocated to California in 1950 to pursue a career in broadcasting. Over the years, he hosted various game shows, including the Miss Universe and Miss USA pageants from 1967 to 1987. However, it was Barker’s role in reviving “The Price is Right” in 1982 that truly propelled him to fame. The show became a massive hit and one of the longest-running game shows in TV history.

Bob Barker remained the beloved host of “The Price is Right” until 2007. Though he stepped away from the spotlight afterwards, he made several appearances before his definitive retirement in 2015. Fans from around the world expressed their sadness at his passing, paying tribute to the entertainment icon.

In accordance with Barker’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Instead, he will be laid to rest beside his wife, Dorothy Jo Gideon, at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in the Hollywood Hills. Barker and Dorothy were high school sweethearts who were married for 35 years until her death from lung cancer in 1981. As Barker once fondly recalled, she gave him a lucky card from a deck that he has cherished for over 60 years.

Let us remember Bob Barker for all the wonderful memories he left us with. Rest in peace, Bob, and thank you for the joy you brought to our lives.
