When an Australian farmer went to collect his chickens’ daily egg delivery, he experienced the shock of his life. A gigantic egg, three times the size of a typical egg and weighing 6.2 ounces, had been laid by one of his hens. This incredible find took place at Stockman’s Eggs in Atherton Tablelands, north Queensland.

Scott Stockman, the owner of the company, shared a picture of this amazing discovery made by his team. The huge egg looked incredibly strange when compared to a regular-sized egg, but what they found after cracking it open was even more puzzling. Inside the massive egg was another flawlessly developed egg!

According to Associate Professor Raf Freire from Charles Sturt University, a veterinary sciences expert, he had never seen anything like this before. The hen had likely developed an egg as usual, but for some reason, it didn’t lay it. Then, the following day, instead of laying the first egg, the chicken released another ovum. What happened next was truly astonishing. The chicken somehow decided to make its shell around both the previous day’s egg and the new ovum that had come down.

The experts reassured that both eggs were perfectly safe to eat. However, with a daily supply of 50,000 eggs, Stockman decided not to consume this unusual double egg. Can you blame him?
