Best friends of 20 years buy plot of land and build tiny town so they can vacation and retire together

Are you tired of the hustle and bustle of city life? Do you long for a peaceful retreat where you can reconnect with nature and spend quality time with your best friends? Well, a group of four couples in Texas had the same dream, and they turned it into reality by building their very own tiny town.

These best friends, who have been inseparable for over 20 years, wanted to find a quiet escape from their homes in Austin. They stumbled upon a beautiful piece of land near the Llano River, a nature lover’s paradise. Despite the rough terrain, they saw its potential and knew it would be the perfect place to build their dream community.

Initially, they considered building a shared house, but then they discovered the tiny house movement and decided that individual cabins with a communal building would be more suitable. With the help of architect Matt Garcia, they were able to design and construct their own private 350-square-foot cabins, each equipped with a double bed, kitchenette, and bathroom.

But this tiny town is not just about the houses. The community was designed with environmental sustainability in mind. The roofs of the cabins collect rainwater for later use, and the houses are insulated to keep the indoor space cool during the scorching Texas heat. Garcia made sure to balance the cold metal exterior with a warm and cozy interior design, creating a space that feels like home.

In addition to the individual cabins, the community also features a 1,500-square-foot communal cabin. This gathering space includes a guest bedroom, a living area, and a large kitchen for cooking, dining, and group activities. And let’s not forget about the pool! It’s the perfect spot for some relaxation and fun in the sun.

While the best friends are not ready for full-time retirement just yet, their tiny town, lovingly named “Llano Exit Strategy” or “Bestie Row,” serves as a great getaway. And when they’re not using the cabins, they even earn some extra income by renting them out to curious vacationers interested in experiencing the tiny house lifestyle.

The story of these best friends’ tiny town has been making waves online, with many people applauding their commitment to friendship and their unique retirement plan. Some have even been inspired to consider building their own micro communities to spend more time with their loved ones.

So, what do you think? Would you build a tiny town with your best friends? It could be the perfect way to create lasting memories and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Share this story and join the conversation!
