The Enigmatic Tree Branch

Water dowser

At first glance, it doesn’t look like much – just an ordinary, V-shaped tree branch. But believe it or not, this unassuming tool has a history dating back to the 1500s and a practice known as “Water Dowsing.”
It goes by many names – diviner, doodlebug, well witch, water-finder – but its primary mission remains the same: to locate water!

Unveiling the Secret

Imagine holding both branches of the stick in your hands, with your palms facing upwards. Now, tilt the stem of the V (where the two rods meet) toward the Earth at a 45-degree angle.
As you walk back and forth, keep an eye out for vibrations at the bottom of the V. These telltale signs are believed to indicate the presence of hidden water beneath the Earth’s surface.
Interestingly, back in the 1500s, dowsing was initially used to find metals in the ground. But as time went on, people discovered that the same method could be used to locate water sources, especially for those living in rural areas.
