Hilary Swank, the talented Oscar-winning actress, recently shared her experience of becoming a first-time mom at the age of 48. In an exclusive interview with Page Six, she expressed her joy and excitement about motherhood, especially after giving birth to twins last year.

Swank attended the red carpet premiere of her new film, “Ordinary Angels,” in New York City, where she couldn’t help but gush about how much she enjoys being a mom. She revealed, “It’s way more joyful, way more fun, and way more exciting than I ever imagined. I always thought it would be extraordinary, but it’s way more.”

The “Boys Don’t Cry” star, who is now 49, welcomed her adorable twins, a boy and a girl, in April 2023 with her husband, Philip Schneider. While the pregnancy news was shared in October 2022 on “Good Morning America,” Swank kept their names under wraps until Valentine’s Day this year. She finally revealed their cute monikers – Aya and Ohm – by sharing a heartwarming photo of them sitting on the beach with their names spelled out in green sea glass.

Despite being an older mom, Swank dismisses the notion that she may feel more tired than younger mothers. She believes that exhaustion is a part of being a new mom, regardless of age. “I think there’s exhaustion no matter how old you are. You can be in your 20s and still be exhausted. I think it comes with the territory,” she shared with Page Six.

In addition to embracing motherhood, Swank is currently busy promoting her new movie, “Ordinary Angels.” Directed by Jon Gunn, the film tells the heartwarming true story of Sharon Stevens (played by Swank), a hairdresser from Louisville, Ky. Sharon, along with her community, rallies together to help widowed father Ed Schmitt (played by Alan Ritchson) when they learn that his 5-year-old daughter, Michelle (played by Emily Mitchell), desperately needs a liver transplant.

Swank personally resonates with the movie’s message of kindness and strives to live her life accordingly. “I always try to be kind. I think it’s important to live a life of kindness. It doesn’t mean you always do it,” she explained. She believes in treating people the way she wants to be treated, adhering to the age-old golden rule.

Hilary Swank has proven that age is just a number when it comes to embracing the joys and challenges of motherhood. Her journey is an inspiration for all, showing that becoming a mom later in life can be a truly fulfilling experience filled with love and happiness.
