Tony Ganios, best known for his role as Anthony “Meat” Tuperello in the Porky’s sex comedy franchise, has passed away at the age of 64. The actor’s fiancée, Amanda Serrano-Ganios, shared the heartbreaking news on social media, revealing that he died after a long surgery for a spinal infection.

In a heartfelt tribute, Serrano-Ganios wrote, “The last words we said to each other were ‘I love you.’ Love is an understatement. You are everything to me. My heart, my soul, and my best friend. #I love you #tonyganios.”

Ganios made his film debut in Philip Kaufman’s 1979 coming-of-age movie The Wanderers, where he played the tough guy Perry LaGuardia. He then went on to star in the highly popular 1981 film Porky’s, becoming a central figure in the teen sex comedy franchise. Ganios reprised his role as “Meat” Tuperello in the sequels Porky’s II: The Next Day and Porky’s Revenge. He also appeared alongside John Belushi in Continental Divide and had a memorable scene in Die Hard 2.

Despite his success in Hollywood, Ganios stayed humble and cherished his friendships, particularly with his Porky’s co-stars. In an interview, he described the group as a “big, dysfunctional family” that supported each other through life’s ups and downs. They stood by one another through marriages, childbirth, divorces, lawsuits, and the tragic loss of one of their own.

Tony Ganios will be remembered not only for his contributions to the film industry but also for his genuine friendships and the love he shared with his fiancée. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
