Al Roker has been a well-known face on television for many years at this time. He has been a regular on the Today programme since 1996, when he first started working there.

His wife, Deborah Roberts, is well-known in her own right. ABC News’ senior national affairs correspondent has some breaking news to share, and she has hundreds of thousands of social media followers.

Al Roker had some health difficulties late last year, which alarmed fans all across the world. The Today Show presenter returned to the show early this year and was candid with viewers about what had happened.

“I had two difficult situations,” he explained. “I had blood clots that they assume formed when I had COVID in September, and I had internal bleeding,” Roker explained. “I lost nearly half of my blood,” he added.

He was admitted to the hospital in November 2022 with a blood clot that began in his leg and advanced to his lung.

Viewers may have noticed Al Roker’s absence from the “Today Show” around Thanksgiving this year.

He admitted to experiencing “medical whack-a-mole” but was “lucky to be receiving fantastic medical treatment and on the road to recovery.”

He didn’t confess he required surgery or that he was bleeding internally until he met with his Today co-hosts.

“I went in for one operation and received four gratis.”

His medical team at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center discovered two bleeding ulcers. They removed his gallbladder, resectioned a part of his small intestine, and operated on him for seven hours.

“(We) were quite concerned about Al,” Al’s gastroenterologist, Dr. Felice H. Schnoll-Sussman, told Today. “I am quite concerned. He experienced a near-fatal encounter. There’s simply no dispute about that.”

“For a few of weeks, he was a medical mystery,” Roberts said of her husband’s health scare. “It was the most chaotic, terrifying voyage we’d ever taken.”

“He is a live, breathing miracle,” she described him as. “He really is, and I have to say — and I don’t believe I’m exaggerating — Al was a very, very sick man. And I believe most people were unaware of this.”

Just as everyone was starting to feel better, his wife Deborah Roberts dropped a bombshell. She shared a video on Instagram on the need for a break. In the video, she claims to have a “frog in her throat” and isn’t feeling well.

“There are times when your body shouts, ‘Enough. “I think my body is screaming right now that it’s time to take a break, refuel, and rejuvenate,” she remarked.

“Well that’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to take a break, a couple of days, to attempt to renew and rejuvenate.

“I’m going to turn off social media and just focus on myself…

I’ll see you when I get there.”

She assured fans that she would be back on ABC next week.

Deborah’s social media hiatus serves as a nice reminder that everyone needs to take a break from time to time to refuel.

We are happy that she prioritized her health and self-care. We express our best wishes for health and happiness to the family. Share this story with others so that they, too, may be informed.
