“Wheel of Fortune” host Pat Sajak recently opened up about his emergency surgery for a clogged intestine a month ago. In a candid interview with “Good Morning America,” Sajak admitted that he had feared the worst before the surgery.

Sajak’s ordeal began in November when he started experiencing excruciating pain while taking a stroll with his daughter. Within a few hours, he found himself doubled over in pain, on the verge of surgery. Despite trying various drugs to manage the discomfort, nothing seemed to work.

However, everything changed when Sajak was given a medication by his doctors. He described a surreal experience of suddenly seeing a face surrounded by beautiful hues, while his wife and daughter’s voices sounded distant. For a moment, he believed he was facing death.

Fortunately, Sajak’s fears were unfounded, and the surgery was a success. Doctors found no underlying reason for the intestinal blockage, so he doesn’t need to make any major changes to his lifestyle.

Since the surgery, Sajak has been feeling fantastic and has even returned to work on the show. He shared that he’s back in the studio working on concerts, and nothing “popped” even after spinning the wheel. With his humor intact, he said, “I still have my wits about me, so I’ll keep selling vowels for a very long time.”
