Jansen Panettiere, brother to Nashville star Hayden Panettiere, has been found dead at the age of 28, according to tragic reports.

PEOPLE say that Jansen died in New York City at the weekend. Though his cause of death is not yet known, a source told TMZ that no foul play is suspected at this time.

An actor in his own right, Jansen appeared in films and TV series such as The X’s, Tiger Cruise, Racing Stripes, The Martial Arts Kid, The Walking Dead, Perfect Game and How High 2.

He also starred in Disney Channel original movies and made-for-TV Nickelodeon films, earning a nomination for the Young Artist Award back in 2008 for his work on “The Last Day of Summer.”

As per TMZ, law enforcement were called to a residence in NYC on Sunday night at around 5:30 p.m.

At the time of writing, no further details as to the cause of Jansen’s death have been given, though it’s been made clear that foul play is not suspected.

Only three weeks ago, Jansen uploaded a photo his Instagram account that featured his famous big sister. In the pic, Hayden, 33, could be seen cutting his hair. Jansen captioned it:

“Not the first haircut she’s tried to give me.”

Tough time

According to the Daily Mail, and insider claimed that Jansen had been “having a rough time lately with his career.”

“He had been having a rough time lately with his career and he was dragged in so many directions,” the source said.

“Hayden is just inconsolable. He was her best friend and her only brother. He was such a nice guy but he lived on the edge.”

Rest in peace, Jansen Panettiere!
