Couple adopt unwanted 'freak' boy who was abandoned at birth – see him now

Imagine being abandoned as a baby, simply because your appearance is different. This was the heartbreaking reality for Rustam, a child with several malformations that left him without a leg and a partial hip. He was fed through a tube and had multiple surgeries to reconstruct his face. But despite his resilience, Rustam struggled to find someone to give him a loving home.

In 2017, fate intervened when Nika Zlobin, a kind-hearted woman from Moscow, came across a photo of four-year-old Rustam. Despite his unique appearance, Nika saw beyond the surface and knew she had to help him. Together with her husband Yuri, they made the decision to foster or adopt Rustam.

Their first meeting with Rustam exceeded their expectations. Nika recalls, “I was ready for a lot, I thought he was in diapers, but when I met him, he seemed like a child prodigy. I was shocked, honestly.” With love and determination, Nika and Yuri welcomed Rustam into their home, providing him with the care and support he desperately needed.

While some people labeled Rustam as a “freak,” Nika and Yuri saw only a brave and courageous boy. They refused to treat him any differently from their biological daughter, Iya. Despite his protests, Nika even taught Rustam how to walk, pushing him to overcome obstacles and embrace his independence.

Nika has become an advocate for the rights and dignities of disabled individuals, raising awareness and challenging stereotypes. Though she has faced hurtful comments, she stays strong for Rustam, reminding him that he is perfect just the way he is. Rustam, now around 10 years old, embraces his unique personality through his vibrant hairstyles and bold fashion choices.

The love and support that Nika and Yuri have shown Rustam is truly remarkable. They have turned his life around, providing him with a loving family and a bright future. Let us celebrate this heartwarming story and spread the message of acceptance and love for all.
