Adele explains why she looks annoyed in THAT viral NBA meme

Adele recently took the opportunity to explain the now-infamous viral meme from a NBA All-Stars game in Cleveland, Ohio two years ago. During her Weekends with Adele concert in Las Vegas, the 35-year-old singer addressed the crowd and offered some context about the meme that made her look annoyed.

“Do you remember that viral meme of me looking like I don’t give a flying f***?” she asked the audience. “I’d like to give some context about that meme.” Adele, who is known for her unbothered appearance and candidness, is often the subject of memes and praised by fans for her down-to-earth attitude.

During the NBA game, Adele was intentionally ignoring the camera because she was feeling very annoyed, as she revealed in a fan-recorded TikTok video. “I know it sounds crazy, but I really don’t like being famous, right?” she confessed. “So obviously, I know I’m sitting courtside at a basketball game, you’re asking for it. Whatever.”

While her sports agent boyfriend, Rich Paul, was socializing with other people, Adele was focused on watching the players. She jokingly shared, “I was just there on my own, looking for Michael Jordan, to be honest with you.” However, a camera crew approached her and asked if they could film her, despite her reluctance. “Please don’t. I just canceled [my] Vegas [residency]. I really don’t wanna be [on camera],” she pleaded.

Despite Adele’s refusal, the camera crew went ahead and filmed her anyway. This led to fan speculation that she had work done on her lips, which she addressed during her concert. “The reason my lips looked like I had filler…” she began, before asserting that she has naturally big lips and does not need cosmetic procedures. Adele clarified that her different appearance in the meme was due to her sulking and feeling upset about being filmed against her will.

“I was just very annoyed because I asked not to be filmed,” she confessed. “But I guess I was asking it by going.” The Grammy winner humorously added, “Also, my face is very memeable. I can’t help it.” She wanted to provide some context to the meme, explaining that she was purposely avoiding looking at the camera.
