An innocent man was sentenced to 17 years in prison, but after the court reexamined the facts in his case, the man was released.

When the law is broken, the individual who violated it must bear the penalties. But what if the person accused of the crime is actually an innocent man, someone who has a family at home and has lived his life in peace, obeying the laws and taking care not to deviate from the upright path?

If you don’t believe in bad luck, let me tell you about a man whose story will change your view.

He spent nearly twenty years of his life in prison as a result of a crime for which he was not accountable.

With his wife and children, Richard Anthony Jones enjoyed a normal life in Missouri.

He was a loving father, husband, and citizen who worked tirelessly every day to ensure that his family had everything they needed.

Some police officers paid him a visit one day, and he was later jailed for a crime in which he had no involvement, according to him.

He claimed to be a God-fearing, humble man who worked hard to provide for his family, and that he had no idea what the fuss was about.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that he was guilty of armed robbery at the final trial, in which no fingerprints were discovered at the site; hence, he began serving his term in a maximum-security prison in 1999. He grew acclimated to the idea.

The system appeared to be working against him at the end of the day. Richard is regularly confused in the institution where he is being detained with another person who, according to what Richard has heard from other detainees, appears to be his identical twin brother. Furthermore, they both have the same initial name.

After discovering all of these strange details, the man attempted to file an appeal and describe what he heard in prison to the lawyer’s ex officio, but no one listened to him. He was eventually defeated.

Following an appeal, the attorney who defended him supplied images of Richard’s “twin,” a man who was an exact physical match. They came to the conclusion that the perpetrator was still at large.

The man who was innocent of the crime was finally released in 2016 after serving 17 years in jail for a crime he did not commit.

When he was given his penalty, he was able to look at his newborn daughter, who is now a lovely 17-year-old girl, and see how she truly shone for him.

This man went through a lot of adversity, and due to a mistake, he ended up spending almost his whole life in prison, while the true perpetrator of the crime was still out there creating who knows what kind of pain.

Many people would lose their wits if they were in his situation. Tell everyone about this amazing event!
