Whitman was only eight years old when she appeared on Friends in 1996, and she’s now sharing her memories of Aniston: “She took such amazing care of me, and I sobbed uncontrollably as I wrapped.”

This week, Mae Whitman reunited with one of her early scene mates.

On Wednesday’s episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan, the 34-year-old actress shared a backstage moment with Jennifer Aniston, nearly three decades after her cameo on Friends.

“I simply wanted to say hello since you were so nice to me,” Aniston explained. “That was my favorite program, and you made me feel like I was a cast member. And you were so sweet that you hugged me. Thank you very much. It’s stuck with me ever since.”

“I’m so glad you’re doing well!” Aniston, who portrayed Rachel on the NBC sitcom, reacted before the two hugged.

“It’s great to see you. You’re incredible, “Whitman went on to say.

Whitman, who appeared on the ABC talk show, recalled working with Aniston, 54, on the blockbuster sitcom in 1996, in which she portrayed Sarah, a girl scout who recruits Ross (David Schwimmer) into selling cookies.

“She took such amazing care of me,” she told Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Ripa, “and I wept uncontrollably when I wrapped, and I made her a Christmas ornament with her name on it.”

“That was my first encounter with her. That was a significant reunion.” She went on to say, “So seeing her was incredible. She’s really cool.”

Whitman also expressed her joy at the reunion in a social media post that included a photo of her and Aniston together as well as a vintage shot of her character on Friends.

“Had the genuine nicest time promoting @uphereonhulu with @livekellyandryan – truly love all my dear mates there on screen and off,” she wrote. “And the coolest part was I had a Great reunion with the luminous @jenniferaniston, who made me feel so welcomed and loved, and I wept uncontrollably when I wrapped the episode and created her a Christmas ornament.”

Ross began selling cookies for Sarah after accidently throwing her down a flight of stairs and fracturing her leg in the season 3 episode “The One Where Rachel Quits.”
