George and Amal Clooney were far from their English country mansion and all the better for it on Wednesday after the £15million property succumbed to more flooding

While they relished the picturesque surroundings of the Cote d’Azur, their £15 million mansion in England fell victim to another round of destructive flooding. The torrential rain caused the fields surrounding their English country home to be submerged in water, leaving the estate in disarray.

As they walked hand in hand, George and Amal radiated love and happiness. The couple, who have six-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander, hopped into George’s luxurious £69k Mercedes-Benz AMG E53 Coupe to refuel before embarking on their next adventure.

Amal looked effortlessly chic in her flared jeans, paired with a tight black tee, a leather jacket, and stylish sunglasses. George, on the other hand, exuded off-duty star style with a dark polo shirt, a padded jacket, light wash jeans, and suede Chelsea boots.

Their appearance in the South of France has fueled rumors that the couple has permanently relocated there, bidding farewell to their Thames-side mansion in the picturesque town of Sonning, Berkshire. Locals claim that George and Amal have been living at the stunning 18th-century Domaine du Canadel for several months now.

The couple’s Berkshire mansion, which they purchased in 2014 and meticulously renovated, has suffered from multiple instances of heavy flooding due to its proximity to the Thames. This is not the first time the Clooneys have faced such challenges. In previous years, their property has been inundated by muddy waters and submerged tennis courts, verandas, and vast stretches of green lawn. Storm Christoph wreaked havoc in January 2021, causing floodwater to seep onto the estate’s lawn, but thankfully, the house remained untouched.

However, during Storm Dennis in February 2020, the Hollywood star’s tennis courts, veranda, and most of the lawn were completely submerged. The rains continued to test their resilience in 2018 when three inches of rainfall over the April bank holiday resulted in extensive flooding.

Despite the challenges they face in England, their French estate provides a serene sanctuary. Spanning 25 acres of vineyards and featuring a pool, tennis court, boules pitch, olive grove, and ornamental lake, it is a slice of paradise for the power couple.
