It’s truly remarkable to witness the journey of child stars as they grow up and navigate through life. Some may fade away quickly after their initial success, while others continue to shine. Melissa Gilbert, best known for her iconic role as Laura Ingalls Wilder in “Little House on the Prairie,” is definitely an example of the latter.

Melissa’s journey began at the age of nine when she joined the cast of the hit show. Little did she know that it would catapult her into stardom and grant her global recognition. Growing up on the set of “Little House on the Prairie,” Melissa cherished every moment and considered it to be a delightful and amazing environment to grow as a child performer.

Her success didn’t stop with the show. Melissa went on to star in other television films, serve as the President of the Screen Actors Guild, compete on “Dancing with the Stars,” and even run for Congress. She has truly proven herself to be a multi-talented and accomplished individual.

However, in recent years, the now 58-year-old actress made a life-changing decision. She chose to trade the glamour of Hollywood for a peaceful life in the Catskills, New York. Yearning for tranquility and a chance for deeper contemplation, Melissa decided to embark on a new chapter.

Upon moving to her new home, Melissa faced the challenge of renovating an old house that had been uninhabited for years. Despite the initial difficulties, she saw the potential for something truly special. With determination and hard work, she transformed the house into a place of beauty and serenity, creating her own haven.

But Melissa’s journey hasn’t solely revolved around transforming houses. Like many in the entertainment industry, she felt the pressure to defy the aging process. Over the years, she experimented with various cosmetic procedures, including Botox, fillers, and breast implants. However, she eventually realized that these procedures were changing her into someone she didn’t recognize, someone who wasn’t truly herself.

In 2015, Melissa made a bold decision. She had her breast implants removed and stopped getting Botox and other cosmetic procedures. This marked a turning point for her, as she began to embrace her natural self and appreciate the changes that come with age. Melissa describes this move as one of the smartest decisions she has ever made.

At Newsner, we strongly believe that everyone should feel comfortable in their own skin, regardless of their age or appearance. We wholeheartedly applaud Melissa Gilbert for choosing to age naturally and embracing her true self. Let’s rally behind Melissa as she continues on her remarkable journey.
