Michael Strahan, famous anchor of “Good Morning America,” recently shared with his co-hosts that his 19-year-old daughter, Isabella, has encountered a setback in her ongoing fight against brain cancer.

Michael Strahan reveals daughter Isabella, 19, had a ‘rough’ setback amid brain cancer battle

The devoted father expressed his concerns, saying, “The last three days have been a little rough because she [Isabella] had a fever that kind of comes and goes.” As a result, Isabella had to be admitted to the hospital. Michael had hoped she would be home after a few hours, but it has now been three days. Nevertheless, he remains hopeful that Isabella will be able to return home soon.

Earlier this year, Michael and Isabella appeared on “GMA” to reveal that Isabella had been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor called medulloblastoma. This aggressive cancerous tumor grows rapidly in the cerebellum, the part of the brain responsible for movement and coordination. Isabella completed her last radiation treatment last month, symbolically celebrating by ringing a bell.

Isabella’s ongoing treatment includes chemotherapy at Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center in Durham, North Carolina. While she has been experiencing some expected side effects, the process has undoubtedly been challenging. Michael acknowledged this, saying, “It is tough to see her go through it, but I know she’s a tough young lady and she’s going to make it through it.”

Isabella, who has a twin sister named Sophia, attends Duke University, while she documents her chemotherapy journey on YouTube. In one of her recent uploads, she candidly shared her experiences with her followers. Isabella described her first round of chemotherapy as “one of the worst things I’ve done ever in my entire life.” She expressed surprise at how difficult it was, stating, “I feel like people made it look so much easier.”

Despite the challenges, Isabella remains positive and determined. She expressed her gratitude for the support she has received from both known and unknown well-wishers. Michael echoed this sentiment, acknowledging the outpouring of support they have received during this difficult time. He expressed his gratitude to everyone who has reached out, stating, “All that support that she is getting from people she doesn’t know, on top of people that she does know, has kept her in a very positive space.”

The touching story of Isabella’s strength and the unwavering support from her loved ones and strangers alike is a reminder of the power of community and compassion. Let us join Michael and Isabella in providing our heartfelt support during this challenging journey.
