Sharon Osbourne, 71, is not happy with Kanye West, 46, using a sample from Ozzy Osbourne’s iconic song “War Pigs.” In a statement to TMZ on Friday, February 9, Sharon expressed her discontent and revealed that she and Ozzy, 75, have sent a cease and desist letter to West.

According to Sharon, someone from West’s team had reached out to them three weeks ago seeking permission to use the song. However, the request was turned down due to Kanye’s past antisemitic remarks. Sharon emphasized that while Ozzy typically approves such requests, they couldn’t allow West to use the sample this time.

Ozzy himself released a statement, expressing his disappointment with West for using the sample without permission. In a tweet, the rockstar made it known that he wanted no association with West, calling him an antisemite and mentioning the heartache West has caused to many.

This incident comes in the wake of West facing backlash for his numerous antisemitic comments in the past. In 2022, he made a tweet targeting Jewish people, leading to his ban from the platform and loss of sponsorships. He later appeared on “Piers Morgan Uncensored” to apologize for his remarks.

However, West’s controversies continued, as he made statements praising Hitler in an interview with Alex Jones. More recently, in December 2023, he went on another rant, claiming that “Zionists” control private schools and hospitals. This drew condemnation from many, including the Jewish community.

In an effort to rectify the situation, West took to social media to apologize again. This time, he wrote a message in Hebrew, expressing his sincere apologies to the Jewish community. He stated that it was never his intention to hurt or demean and that he deeply regrets any pain he may have caused. West also committed to learning from this experience and striving for greater sensitivity and understanding in the future.

The joint album “Vultures” by Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign was scheduled for release on February 9, following West’s album listening party in Chicago on February 8. As of now, the album has not yet been released on streaming services.
