Despite being unaware of what it is, scientists have discovered that the red liquid that oozes out of bleeding tooth fungus contains a pigment with anticoagulant and antimicrobial properties. It also contains an additional component that may be beneficial in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.

The Bleeding Tooth Fungus, despite its previous name, is not toxic but has an unpleasant bitter taste (Strawberries and Cream, because of its resemblance to a fruit).

Sherry Dinny and her 8-year-old son were speaking as they walked around the park one day. A short time later, she noticed her son grasping this unusual plant. After observing blood traces around his mouth, she dashed over to him.

After she fled in terror and rushed straight to the hospital, the physicians informed her that the plant was absolutely safe. In truth, it was good to him and had antibacterial properties.
