Simone Biles, the incredible gymnast who overcame a challenging upbringing in foster care, has soared to new heights in her career. With seven Olympic medals under her belt, Biles is undeniably a force to be reckoned with.

Recently, Biles made headlines when she withdrew from the Tokyo Olympics, citing the importance of mental health. “It’s been a long week… a long year. Just a lot of different variables,” she expressed in an interview with USA Today. Her decision shed light on the need to prioritize well-being and sparked important conversations about the pressures athletes face.

Biles’ journey to success has been anything but easy. As a young child, she and her siblings were placed in foster care before being adopted by their grandparents. Biles’ bond with her grandmother, whom she lovingly refers to as “mom,” has been a source of unwavering support. “She encourages me and never lets me feel down about something for too long,” Biles shared with CNN.

In her Facebook series, Simone vs. Herself, Biles opened up about her time in foster care. “I don’t remember a lot about it, but I definitely knew that we had been taken from our biological mom,” she revealed. She also acknowledged the fortune of being able to stay with her siblings, as many children in the foster system are separated from their brothers and sisters.

Biles discovered her passion for gymnastics by chance. When she was just six years old, a trip to a farm was cancelled due to bad weather, and she was taken to a tumbling gym instead. Little did she know that this twist of fate would lead her to greatness.

While the Tokyo Olympics didn’t go as planned for Biles, her fans have something to look forward to. USA Gymnastics recently announced her return to the sport, with plans to compete at the 2023 US Classic in August. The world eagerly awaits her dazzling performances.

In April and May of 2023, Biles tied the knot with NFL player Jonathan Owens in two intimate ceremonies. The couple now resides in a stunning Houston home they purchased back in 2019. The sleek, modern design with black-and-white interiors, a spacious living room, and a charming backyard featuring a swing table set has captured Biles’ heart.

However, Biles’ parents, who took her from foster care, have a different view of her “LA house” in Houston. They often express their preference for a different style of home. Yet, Biles remains steadfast in her love for her house, reminding them that it reflects her unique taste and personality.

Not content with just one extraordinary home, Biles and Owens are currently building another one for themselves. Their love for innovative design and creating spaces that inspire them is evident.

As Biles continues to make waves in the gymnastics world, we can only anticipate more medals, records, and incredible achievements in her future. Her resilience, determination, and commitment to advocating for mental health serve as an inspiration to us all.
