Supatra, a brave teenager born in Bangkok, has faced adversity and negativity throughout her life due to her excessive hair. She has been compared to the fictional character “Chewbacca” from the Star Wars saga. However, her determination and resilience have helped her rise above the hurtful nicknames, such as “Wolf Girl” and “Monkey Face.”

Supatra is one of only fifty known individuals in the world with a rare condition called Ambras Syndrome, which is caused by a defective gene. This syndrome has been documented in just fifty cases since the Middle Ages. Despite the challenges she faces, Supatra has found love and happiness as she is now happily married. Her supportive husband has played a significant role in her life, and she speaks about their relationship with great tenderness.

In the past, before the understanding of Ambras Syndrome, those affected by the condition were unfairly labeled as “werewolves.” Despite enduring the label of “Wolf Girl,” Supatra remains grateful for her life and finds joy in every moment. During the Guinness World Records ceremony in Rome in 2010, Supatra shared that she doesn’t feel any different from anyone else and has many friends at school. She believes that her hairiness makes her special. Becoming the hairiest girl in the world was an exhilarating experience for her.

Supatra’s presence at the ceremony captivated Marco Frigatti, an on-screen judge. He described her as a remarkable and proud individual who desires to be treated like everyone else. Marco believes that it is society, not Supatra, that has the problem in treating her differently.

Despite facing challenges from her early years, including undergoing two operations at birth, Supatra remains cheerful and hopeful. She is determined to pursue her education and has a particular passion for mathematics. Her ambition is to become a doctor so that she can help and treat others.

Growing up, Supatra had to navigate a society filled with racist prejudices, which made it difficult for her to make friends and be accepted. However, her perseverance paid off, as her community began to embrace and support her. Her story serves as a powerful reminder that our stories are not defined by sad moments alone. Supatra is not just overcoming challenges; she is also starting a new chapter filled with love and acceptance.

Let’s share this incredible story of Supatra’s strength and resilience with our family and friends!
