The heartbreaking search for missing 10-month-old Zeke Best came to a tragic conclusion earlier this week. Just one day after an Amber Alert was issued, authorities located Zeke’s lifeless body. It was a devastating blow to everyone involved.

The distressing discovery occurred in an area approximately 24 miles east of Idaho Falls, Idaho. A hunter had spotted a man in a sleeping bag by the roadside and immediately alerted the police. The man, later identified as Jeremy Albert Best, was found naked and making unusual statements. He was wanted in connection with the Amber Alert, suspected of kidnapping Zeke in Teton County.

Officials from the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office shared that they found Best’s car in an embankment. The search took a heartbreaking turn when they discovered baby Zeke dead at the scene. The details surrounding the tragic incident are still being investigated.

Earlier that week, on Thursday, November 30, Best had caused concern when he was spotted walking naked through a store. Despite the alarming behavior, he was released from a mental health screening just hours before the alleged murder of his wife, Kali Jean Randall, 38, and the abduction of Zeke.

After finding Kali’s body that evening, a desperate search was launched to locate both Best and Zeke. Tragically, the search came to an end on Saturday morning, with Zeke’s body discovered near his still-living father.

Best was immediately taken into custody on the arrest warrant related to his wife’s death. Currently, he is being held in Bonneville County Jail and will remain there until his arraignment.

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office expressed their condolences, stating, “Our thoughts are with the family of the victims involved in this case. Further information will be shared at an appropriate time in the future, as the investigation is still ongoing.”
